A course on the development of educational thought and practice through primary sources. Systems of educational theory will be examined from the age of Athens & Egress to post- World War II, with special emphasis on contemporary educational practice
EDU 220 Child Development (3 Cr.)
A chronological study of typical and atypical cognitive, linguistic, emotional and physical development. The relative influences and interactions of heredity and environment, and the impact of development on learning and school success are examined.
EDU 225 Educational Sociology (3 Cr.)

EDU 260 General Evaluation & Assessment (1.5 Cr.)
The objective of this course is to conceive an instrument of assessment of the formation, expertise, and knowledge, that valid, appreciable, faithful or economic. The theoretical work is pushed by another practice. The accent is put on the instrument and no on results that import what stage appropriate to the point can suggest.

Theory and practice of teaching visual art in the elementary school with observation and practice teaching in classrooms.

القراءة وتقنياتها، القواعد ومواضيعها المختلفة، التعبير وتحديد وسائله، الكتابة واختيار الألفاظ والجمل في الحلقة الأولى من التعليم الأساسي.
KIN 210 Mathematics (1.5 Cr.)
يتم التركيز على مواضيع الرياضيات التي تدرس في هاتين الحلقتين, والتعمق في المفاهيم وعلاقاتها ببعضها البعض، مثل أنظمة الإعداد العشرية، والنظام العشري، والأعداد الصحيحة وخصائصها والعمليات على الأعداد الصحيحة وكذلك القياس والأشكال الهندسية وخصائصها، وبنائها والمهارات في استعمال الأدوات الهندسية، ونظام الاعداد الحقيقية، والعمليات على مختلف الاعداد والقياس. الى جانب مقدمات في الإحصاء والرياضيات المالية والدالة.

يهدف هذا المقرر إلى تعميق المعرفة بنواحي الطفولة المبكرة، وهي مرحلة انتقالية من عالم مجتمع الأسرة المصغر إلى عالم المدرسة العادي وتعلم كيفية التوافق بينهما.
KIN 225 Child Psychology (3 Cr.)
يهدف هذا المقرر إلى تعميق المعرفة بنواحي الطفولة المبكرة والاتجاهات الحديثة في النظر إليها وتطبيقاتها على صعيد التربية الأسرية عامة والتربية ما قبل المدرسية على نحو مخصوص. ويركز على نمو الأطفال في السنوات الست الأولى وعلى المؤسسات التربوية التي تعنى بهذا النمو أي الأسرة والحضانة وروضة الأطفال. كما يشارك الطلاب في صياغة هذه المعرفة من خلال أعمال تطبيقية ميدانية إلزامية تتعلق برياض الأطفال ومشكلاتهم من الولادة حتى عمر ست سنوات.

يتضمّن هذا المقرر تقويم مهارات الطفل في مرحلة الروضة، وتعويد حادقة الأطفال على الملاحظة والمتابعة في عملية تقويم هذه المهارات، وعلى استعمال الوسائل اللازمة في هذه العملية.
KIN 315 Psychological Health (1.5 Cr.)
يتناول هذا المقرّر الصحة النفسية, مقوماتها، تطورها وأهميتها في حياة التلامذة، مع التركيز على الأمراض النفسية والعقلية والسلوكية التي يتعرض لها الأطفال في مجرى نموهم، وعلاقة الأهل والمدرسة بتكيف الطفل النفسي وتوازنه.
KIN 320 Marionette (1.5 Cr.)
يهدف هذا المقرر إلى تعريف الطلاب بفن الدمى وأهميته في جذب الطفل, وأوجه استخدامه (توجيه – تعليم – علاج سلوكي و نفسي، ترفيه ووسيلة إيضاح) مع التطبيق العملي في الصف. كما يشتمل المقرر على تصنيع و تحريك الدمى وكتابة النصوص.

تهدف التربية العملية إلى تنمية المهارات والقدرات المختلفة عند الطلاب المتدربين، وتدريبهم على طرق تدريس الأطفال بشكل تطبيقي وعملي داخل الصفوف الدراسية.

TAL 230 Special Evaluation of Arabic (1.5 Cr.)
This course aims to familiarize potential teachers with the major theoretical tenets of testing and evaluation. Potential teachers will have to critique, devise and implement all types of tests and quizzes. They will also have to analyze test results and accordingly plan appropriate courses of action to help school children overcome their weaknesses.
In addition to testing, alternative assessment procedures will also be discussed at both the theoretical and the practical level.

من خلال هذا المقرّر الى أن الى أن الى أن الى أن توصل الطلاب - المعلمون الى أن:
1. يدركوا أهمية مواد الاجتماعيات في اعداد وتكوين شخصية المتعلم.
2. يميزوا ويدركوا أهداف تعليم الاجتماعيات في المرحلة الابتدائية (في الحلقتين الأولى والثانية).
3. يميّزوا خصائص كل مادة دراسية وأهم المبادىء التربوية في فن تدريس مواد العلوم الاجتماعية (التاريخ، الجغرافية، التربية الوطنية والتنشئة المدنية.
4. يتدربوا على اعداد وتطوير بطاقة تحضير تربوي وينتجوا بطاقات تحضير لدروس في المواد المختلفة.
