Studies the various laws in the Lebanese Constitution that determine the educational process in Lebanon.

EDU 215 History of Education (3 Cr.)

A course on the development of educational thought and practice through primary sources. Systems of educational theory will be examined from the age of Athens & Egress to post- World War II, with special emphasis on contemporary educational practice

EDU 220 Child Development (3 Cr.)

A chronological study of typical and atypical cognitive, linguistic, emotional and physical development. The relative influences and interactions of heredity and environment, and the impact of development on learning and school success are examined.

EDU 225 Educational Sociology (3 Cr.)

يشمل هذا المقرر على مقدمة في علم الاجتماع، ومقاربة سوسيولوجية للنشاطات التربوية، وكما يهدف إلى تعريف الطلاب إلى عناصر التفاعل الاجتماعي في العملية التربوية، وتأثير هذا التفاعل على المتعلم بشكل خاص.

Examines the role of the teacher in a classroom situation: teacher-student interaction and variations in class activities.

Descriptive statistics, correlation, prediction, and statistical inference as applied to educational situations.

EDU 245 Building Curriculums (3 Cr.)

This course study the history of the curriculum, its structure, the historical, economical, psychological, and philosophy of the foundations of building the curriculums, and finally to study the structure of building the new curriculum in Lebanon in 1995.

تتناول دراسة أحدث الآلات والوسائل التقنية الحديثة: السمعية / البصرية / السمعية البصرية / والمستخدمة في تطوير العملية التربوية وطرائق التدريس، إضافة إلى تعلم كيفية استخدامها من قبل الطلاب مع التركيز على نظام (Multimedia) كإحدى الوسائل المعتمدة حديثاً في التعليم.

EDU 260 General Evaluation & Assessment (1.5 Cr.)

The objective of this course is to conceive an instrument of assessment of the formation, expertise, and knowledge, that valid, appreciable, faithful or economic. The theoretical work is pushed by another practice. The accent is put on the instrument and no on results that import what stage appropriate to the point can suggest.

EDU 265 Teaching Art (1.5 Cr.)

Theory and practice of teaching visual art in the elementary school with observation and practice teaching in classrooms.

EDU 270 Teaching Music (1.5 Cr.)

A course on the development of students' basic skills in music (general vocal and instruments), combined with a study of source materials in the teaching of music. This course also includes observation and practice teaching in classrooms.

القراءة وتقنياتها، القواعد ومواضيعها المختلفة، التعبير وتحديد وسائله، الكتابة واختيار الألفاظ والجمل في الحلقة الأولى من التعليم الأساسي.

KIN 210 Mathematics (1.5 Cr.)

يتم التركيز على مواضيع الرياضيات التي تدرس في هاتين الحلقتين, والتعمق في المفاهيم وعلاقاتها ببعضها البعض، مثل أنظمة الإعداد العشرية، والنظام العشري، والأعداد الصحيحة وخصائصها والعمليات على الأعداد الصحيحة وكذلك القياس والأشكال الهندسية وخصائصها، وبنائها والمهارات في استعمال الأدوات الهندسية، ونظام الاعداد الحقيقية، والعمليات على مختلف الاعداد والقياس. الى جانب مقدمات في الإحصاء والرياضيات المالية والدالة.

يتناول المقرّر دراسة معمقّة لمحتوى أنشطة العلوم الفيزيائية والعلوم الطبيعية في المرحلة ما قبل الابتدائية من خلال النشاطات وأعمال تطبيقية.

KIN 220 Early Childhood (3 Cr.)

يهدف هذا المقرر إلى تعميق المعرفة بنواحي الطفولة المبكرة، وهي مرحلة انتقالية من عالم مجتمع الأسرة المصغر إلى عالم المدرسة العادي وتعلم كيفية التوافق بينهما.

KIN 225 Child Psychology (3 Cr.)

يهدف هذا المقرر إلى تعميق المعرفة بنواحي الطفولة المبكرة والاتجاهات الحديثة في النظر إليها وتطبيقاتها على صعيد التربية الأسرية عامة والتربية ما قبل المدرسية على نحو مخصوص. ويركز على نمو الأطفال في السنوات الست الأولى وعلى المؤسسات التربوية التي تعنى بهذا النمو أي الأسرة والحضانة وروضة الأطفال. كما يشارك الطلاب في صياغة هذه المعرفة من خلال أعمال تطبيقية ميدانية إلزامية تتعلق برياض الأطفال ومشكلاتهم من الولادة حتى عمر ست سنوات.

يهدف هذا المقرر إلى إكساب حادقات الأطفال المعلومات والمهارات اللازمة لمساعدة الأطفال على اكتشاف البيئة. كما يعالج المقرر مواضيع مؤهلات المنشط، والوسائل والنشاطات الممكن استخدامها، ومراحل التخطيط لنشاطه.

يهدف هذا المقرر إلى تعليم الطلاب تحضير النشاطات المساعدة على تعلم اللغة الأجنبية كلغة ثانية في مرحلة الروضة.

KIN 240 Theoretical & Applied Activities of Arabic Language (3 Cr.)

يهدف هذا المقرر إلى إكساب حادقة الأطفال مجموعة من المعارف والأسس النظرية الضرورية للتعرف إلى أساليب التواصل والمجال اللغوي لطفل الروضة، ولتنمية المهارات اللغوية، مع طائفة من التطبيقات العملية التي تشمل ميدان القراءة والكتابة.

KIN 245 Songs & Playing (1.5 Cr.)

يهدف هذا المقرّر إلى تعريف حادقة الأطفال إلى المقوّمات الأساسية التي ترتكز عليها أغاني الأطفال والألعاب المدرسية لتمكينهم من اختيار الأفضل لطلابهم، تربوياً وفنياً.

KIN 305 Extraordinary Children (1.5 Cr.)

يهدف هذا المقرّر إلى التمييز ما بين حالات الإعاقة بأنواعها العقلية والجسدية، والصعوبات التعليمية التي تتطلب تربية مختصّة، وحالات الاستثناء عند الأطفال، ودراسة الدمج في المدارس العادية.

KIN 310 Evaluation of Child Development (Child File) (1.5 Cr.)

يتضمّن هذا المقرر تقويم مهارات الطفل في مرحلة الروضة، وتعويد حادقة الأطفال على الملاحظة والمتابعة في عملية تقويم هذه المهارات، وعلى استعمال الوسائل اللازمة في هذه العملية.

KIN 315 Psychological Health (1.5 Cr.)

يتناول هذا المقرّر الصحة النفسية, مقوماتها، تطورها وأهميتها في حياة التلامذة، مع التركيز على الأمراض النفسية والعقلية والسلوكية التي يتعرض لها الأطفال في مجرى نموهم، وعلاقة الأهل والمدرسة بتكيف الطفل النفسي وتوازنه.

KIN 320 Marionette (1.5 Cr.)

يهدف هذا المقرر إلى تعريف الطلاب بفن الدمى وأهميته في جذب الطفل, وأوجه استخدامه (توجيه – تعليم – علاج سلوكي و نفسي، ترفيه ووسيلة إيضاح) مع التطبيق العملي في الصف. كما يشتمل المقرر على تصنيع و تحريك الدمى وكتابة النصوص.

KIN 325 Internship (3 Cr.)

تهدف التربية العملية إلى تنمية المهارات والقدرات المختلفة عند الطلاب المتدربين، وتدريبهم على طرق تدريس الأطفال بشكل تطبيقي وعملي داخل الصفوف الدراسية.

يشمل هذا المقرر مواضيع جغرافية وتاريخية وتربية مدنية تتناسب مع مواضيع منهج الحلقة الثانية من المرحلة الابتدائية في سنواتها الثلاث يعدها الطالب بإشراف الأستاذ، مع استعمال الوسائل التعليمية المناسبة.

The aim of this course is to familiarize potential teachers with the major components of school curricula, in general and the Arabic language curriculum in particular. Issues related to curriculum design and development will be discussed. Approaches to curriculum adaptations and implementation will also be considered. Curriculum evaluation and curriculum innovation will also constitute a major part of this course. Potential teachers will have to devise yearly, weekly and daily lesson plans.

TAL 220 Special Curriculum Social Sciences (1.5 Cr.)

The aim of this course is to familiarize potential teachers with the major components of school curricula, in general and the Social Sciences curriculum, in particular. Issues related to curriculum design and development will be discussed. Approaches to curriculum adaptations and implementation will also be considered. Curriculum evaluation and curriculum innovation will also constitute a major part of this course. Potential teachers will have to devise yearly / weekly / and daily lesson plans.

TAL 225 Methods of Teaching Arabic Language I (1.5 Cr.)

Theory and practice in Teaching Methods Arabic in elementary schools for 1st Cycle with observation and practice teaching in classrooms.

TAL 230 Special Evaluation of Arabic (1.5 Cr.)

This course aims to familiarize potential teachers with the major theoretical tenets of testing and evaluation. Potential teachers will have to critique, devise and implement all types of tests and quizzes. They will also have to analyze test results and accordingly plan appropriate courses of action to help school children overcome their weaknesses.

In addition to testing, alternative assessment procedures will also be discussed at both the theoretical and the practical level.

TAL 235 Special Evaluation of Social Sciences (1.5 Cr.)

This course aims to familiarize potential teachers with the major theoretical tenets of testing and evaluation. Potential teachers will have to critique, devise and implement all types of tests and quizzes. They will also have to analyze tests results and accordingly plan appropriate course of action to help school children overcome their weaknesses.

An analysis and preparation of teaching/ learning materials, plans, and tests for Social Sciences teaching, including supervised practice teaching and individual and group meetings.

TAL 305 Arabic language III (3 Cr.)

دراسة منهج اللغة العربية في الحلقة الثانية من التعليم الابتدائي في الأهداف والنشاطات والمهارات الشفهية والخطية في القراءة والقواعد ودراسة النص والإنشاء والاستظهار والمطالعة.

TAL 310 Methods of Teaching Arabic Language II (1.5 Cr.)

Theory and practice in Teaching Methods Arabic in elementary schools for 2nd Cycle with observation and practice teaching in classrooms.

TAL 315 Methods of Teaching Social Sciences (1.5 Cr.)

Approaches to the teaching of History, Geography and Civics, adaptation of social science concepts and generalizations to the secondary level.

من خلال هذا المقرّر الى أن الى أن الى أن الى أن توصل الطلاب - المعلمون الى أن:

1. يدركوا أهمية مواد الاجتماعيات في اعداد وتكوين شخصية المتعلم.

2. يميزوا ويدركوا أهداف تعليم الاجتماعيات في المرحلة الابتدائية (في الحلقتين الأولى والثانية).

3. يميّزوا خصائص كل مادة دراسية وأهم المبادىء التربوية في فن تدريس مواد العلوم الاجتماعية (التاريخ، الجغرافية، التربية الوطنية والتنشئة المدنية.

4. يتدربوا على اعداد وتطوير بطاقة تحضير تربوي وينتجوا بطاقات تحضير لدروس في المواد المختلفة.

5. يضعوا معايير التقييم.

This course is designed to familiarize potential teachers with the major theoretical tenets of professional development, in general and action research, in particular. Potential teachers will have to conduct research projects that will enable them to specify and overcome problems in implementation.

The various approaches and models will be scrutinized to help potential teachers select the most viable strategies and techniques for developing student’s language proficiency and critical thinking skills. Potential teachers will have to probe in depth various issues related to socio - linguistics and applied linguistics, such as: bilingualism, code - switching, discourse analysis, motivation, classroom management, learning and teaching styles, study skills and habits, textbook evaluation, etc.

The aim of this course is to familiarize potential teachers with the major components of school curricula, in general and the English language curriculum, in particular.
