ACF 305 Financial Analysis (3 Cr.)

Financial Management and Analysis: Foundations of, Capitalization, Working capital, Flow, Treasury, short-term Financing.

 

ACF 310 Intermediate Accounting (3 Cr.)

Analytical accounting: Revision on the costs and return price. - Study of the pre-established or standard costs. - Analysis of the variations - Establishment of the budgets - Establishment of the assessments and estimated exploitation accounts.

 

ACF 315 Bank Accounting (1.5 Cr.)

Special Accounting: Bank Accounting: current and saving accounts services, the forms of credit, cash register movements and control, changes service, letter of credit service, letter of Guarantee, the clearing house, the treasury bills. Accounts of the insurances: insurance categories; entries relative to each category, premium and commission, Mutual assurance and reassurance.

 

ACF 320 Tax Accounting I (3 Cr.)

Accounting audit: General principles of the audit - the internal audit programs - Drafting of the report/ratio of revision and presentation of the financial statements.

 

ACF 330 Managerial Accounting (3 Cr.)

This course would cover the use of accounting information in management decision-making. The use of standards, accounting tools, cost reports and other analysis to be used when making decisions.

 

ACF 335 Portfolio Management (1.5 Cr.)

Course Content

Principles of modern portfolio theory; constructing portfolios; asset allocation. Valuation of companies and major types of securities; the effect of capital structure and investment policies.

ضريبة الدخل الباب الأول: الضريبة على أرباح المهن الصناعية والتجارية وغير التجارية. سنبين هنا: الأعمال والمهن الخاضعة للضريبة، والتكاليف الواجبة الخصم منها لتحديد الإيرادات الخاضعة للضريبة، وطرق تقديرها وكيفية التكاليف بها وتحصيلها وحسابها. بالإضافة إلى حالات الإعفاء من هذه الضريبة. الضريبة على القيمة المضافة (T.V.A): تحديد نطاق تطبيق الضريبة: الأشخاص والعمليات الخاضعة للضريبة أو الخارجة عن نطاقها. وحالات الإعفاء منها، وأساس فرضها، ومعدلها وكيفية تحصيلها، والاعتراض عليها.

 

ACT 330 Tax Accounting II (3 Cr.)

محاسبة الضريبة على القيمة المضافة: لبيان كيفية احتساب ضريبة الإنفاق (T.V.A) وقت استحقاقها، تحديد رقم الأعمال الخاضعة للضريبة، والمبالغ الواجبة تنزيلها من هذا الرقم. الإعفاءات من الضريبة، الحسومات، الاستردادات.

MKT 305 Organizational Behavior (3 Cr.)

The study of organizations: the science of OB, the nature of performance and productivity, effectiveness in organization: approaches, appraisal, productivity measurements, personality and perception: work, stress, and emotion, learning, intelligence and individual decision making, motivation theories and techniques, attitudes, commitments and values, group effectiveness, group decision making. Leadership, communication.

Sales promotion and publicity: Publicity: - mechanisms of the advertising communication, strategy of the contents of publicity, the creation of the advertisements, various media, the media planning, studies intended to guide, measure and control publicity, the advertising budget, the agencies advertising. Sales promotion: - definition, role and importance of promotions, objectives of promotions, the promotions intended for the sales forces, the promotions intended for the tradesmen. Marketing case studies.

 

MKT 320 Consumer Behavior (1.5 Cr.)

The objective of this course is to give an overview of the actual psychological process that followed by the consumers before doing the final buyers process and how things are communicated and perceived by consumers.

 

MKT 325 Sales Management (3 Cr.)

This course would cover the role of the sales forces in the organization. Special focus on the functions of the sales department, sales budgets and developing the sales people.

 

MKT 330 E-Commerce (3 Cr.)

The objective of this course is to provide a comprehensive description of E-commerce; it provides a framework for E-commerce strategy. Then it looks at some E-commerce applications.

 

MKT 335 Feasibility Study (1.5 Cr.)

Commercial Research and Studies: Enterprise information system. Documentary studies, qualitative studies, special studies.

The course will emphasize the determinants of commodity composition and factor content of trade, empirical tests of international trade theories, theory of commercial policy, monopolistic competition in international trade, uncertainty in international trade models.

BIT 305 Programming II (3 Cr.)

Expands upon the fundamentals covered in the Introduction to C++ Programming. Covers object oriented programming concepts using C++. Other topics include program specification, design of abstract data types and classes, inheritance, polymorphism, encapsulation, and using the Standard Template Library.

 

BIT 310 Web Based Programming & Web Design (3 Cr.)

Covers Web publishing and Web-based applications development with emphasis in accessing server databases. Web-site design concepts and tools are introduced including HTML, JavaScript, Cascading Style Sheets, VBScript, XML, and Active Server Pages. The course objective is to prepare students with skills for designing, programming, and publishing Web-sites, as well as developing applications on the Web. Introduces fundamental programming techniques using current web development software. Students design procedures and write computer instructions to solve business problems, learn procedural programming, develop graphical user interfaces for the web and work with events and objects. Students learn web-based programming techniques using current web development software. Students will access data in databases and develop appropriate user interfaces to display the data. Students will apply object-oriented programming concepts to application development. Following are the subject models: HTML, Overview of scripting, VBScript, JavaScript, Active Server Pages (ASP).

 

BIT 315 Object Oriented Programming (3 Cr.)

The course focuses on the definition and use of classes and the fundamentals of object-oriented design. Other topics include: an overview of programming language principles, basic searching and sorting techniques, and an introduction to software engineering issues. Software design and construction in the context of large OOP libraries. May be taught in C++ or Java. Topics: review of OOP, the structure of Graphical User Interface (GUI) OOP libraries, GUI application design and construction, OOP software engineering strategies, approaches to programming in teams..

 

BIT 320 Management Information System (1.5 Cr.)

The course provides the necessary background to enable management information systems personnel to understand tradeoffs in information systems hardware, software, and architecture for effective use in the business environment. Topics covered include information technology planning and strategy, trends in computer hardware and systems software, telecommunications and network management, control and management of information resources, distributed and client-server technologies, and data representation and visualization. This course introduces students with the concepts, applications, techniques and tools of MIS. Students will learn the concepts and techniques involved in the systems approach, fundamentals of information systems, Information systems for business, information systems for competitive advantage, etc. This course prepares students to assume management responsibility for information systems departments/sections during their MIS career. Students will learn about the information technology challenge; effects of IT on strategy and competition; information technology and organization; IT architecture: evolution and alternatives; managing information assets; organizing and leading the information technology function; IT operations; IT management processes; portfolio approach to information technology development; etc...

BIT 330 Data Communication & Computer Networking (3 Cr.)

This course introduces students to the technology of telecommunications and computer networking. Students will learn about electromagnetic spectrum; transmission media; network protocols; circuit switching and packet switching; internet, intranet, and extranet as computer networks; LAN topologies; network hardware network software; setting up of network hardware and cables; network software set-up; network maintenance, etc. Students are prepared to be able to design and build a standard computer network and install and manage a standard network operating system.

 

BIT 335 Systems Analysis & Design

Examines the system-development cycle in depth. Topics include problem identification, problem solving, and information-gathering techniques. Current structured tools are used to describe business rules and objects, data flow, data structures, and process flow and documentation. Creative problem solving and working in a team environment are stressed. Students will learn about information system development methodologies; fact finding and information gathering; feasibility study; system analysis; process modeling; data modeling, network modeling; object modeling; system design and construction; application architecture and process design; database design; input design; output design; user interface design; software design; object-oriented design; system implementation; system maintenance and support, etc. CASE tools are also used.
